DWC and recirculating formulas are built to stay fully dissolved and pH-stable while the same solution circulates for days. Standard drain-to-waste nutrients only need to hold up for a single pass.
Do I need an A&B nutrient for DWC?
No. Single-part options like Hy-Gen Hydro Growth and Bloom work well in DWC. A&B sets keep calcium separated from sulphates and phosphates until dilution, which gives more headroom in hard water and larger systems.
How often should I change the nutrient solution in a recirculating system?
Every 7–14 days is standard practice, topping up with pH-adjusted water between changes. Stable, well-buffered nutrients stretch the interval and keep EC drift manageable.
