Fan noise is one of the most common giveaways in a grow room — and one of the easiest to fix. The Gardis Pro Fan Silencer drops inline with your existing 250mm ducting run and absorbs the hum, rumble, and airflow turbulence before it travels through your walls or ceiling. No soundproofing overhaul. No fan swap. Just quieter air moving through your setup.

Why Growers Use It

Kills Fan Hum Sound-absorbing internals convert acoustic energy before it exits the duct — knocking down the low-frequency drone that travels through ceilings and walls.
Drop-In Fit Sized for standard 250mm ducting. Slots directly into your existing exhaust run — no adapters, no modifications, no tools required.
Airflow Preserved Designed to minimise static pressure resistance. You lose noise, not airflow performance — your extraction rate stays where it needs to be.
Works Any Setup Suits tents, rooms, and cabinet builds alike. If it runs 250mm ducting and a carbon filter, this silencer fits the run.

Before You Buy — Good to Know
  • At 3.7kg, this is a solid unit. Do not suspend it from duct clips alone — use a mounting bracket or ratchet straps rated to the weight if ceiling-mounting. Most growers rest it horizontally on a shelf or frame within the exhaust run.
  • All inline fittings add a small amount of static pressure resistance. If your fan is already at the limit of its airflow capacity, factor this in — or size your fan up slightly.
  • Position the silencer directly after the fan outlet, before the carbon filter or exhaust point, for maximum noise reduction at the highest-pressure point in the run.

How to Install It

1
Power down your inline fan before touching any ducting. Disconnect the section of duct where the silencer will sit — typically directly off the fan outlet.
2
Support the silencer independently — mount it on a bracket, ratchet strap, or shelf before connecting ducting to either end. The silencer should carry its own weight, not hang from the duct connections.
3
Connect 250mm ducting to the inlet end (fan side) and outlet end (filter or exhaust side). Secure with duct clamps and seal joins with aluminium tape to prevent air and odour leaks.
4
Power up and check for leaks — run your hand along duct joins with the fan running. Any hiss or airflow means a gap that needs sealing. Once airtight, you're done.

FAQ

Will this silencer fit my 250mm inline fan?

Yes — the Gardis Pro Fan Silencer is designed for standard 250mm ducting and connects directly to any 250mm inline fan outlet without adapters. Confirm your fan's outlet diameter is 250mm before ordering.

Does a fan silencer reduce airflow?

Yes, marginally. Any inline fitting adds static pressure resistance to the duct run. The Gardis Pro is designed to minimise this, but it is not zero. If your fan is already working at the upper limit of its rated airflow for your space, factor this in — or consider stepping up one fan size when running a silencer.

Where should the silencer be positioned in the duct run?

Directly after the fan outlet, before the carbon filter or exhaust point. This is where fan-generated noise pressure is highest and where the silencer delivers the greatest acoustic reduction. Placing it further down the run reduces effectiveness.

Can I mount this silencer hanging from the ceiling?

Yes, but not from duct clips alone. At 3.7kg, the silencer needs independent support — a proper mounting bracket or ratchet straps rated to the weight. Most growers lay it horizontally on a shelf or frame within the exhaust run rather than free-hanging it.

Do I need to seal the ducting connections with tape?

Yes. Any unsealed join in an exhaust run is a potential odour and noise leak point. Use aluminium tape over duct clamps at both the inlet and outlet connections to keep the run fully sealed. This is good practice on any ducting connection, not just silencer installs.
