CANNA Coco Professional Plus is a pure, RHP-certified coco coir substrate that sets the standard for what a clean, ready-to-use coco medium should be. Produced from a specific grade of coconut husks, triple-washed, buffered, and sterilised before bagging — it arrives with a low EC, stable pH, and an open, airy structure that encourages fast root colonisation and excellent drainage. If you are running CANNA Coco nutrients and want a substrate that works in step with the system, this is what it was designed for.

RHP Certified Quality RHP certification guarantees the substrate meets strict quality standards for horticulture — consistency, cleanliness, and performance batch to batch.
Triple-Washed & Buffered Three-stage washing removes excess salts, and the buffering process pre-charges calcium and magnesium sites so your nutrients go to your plants from day one.
Open & Airy Structure CANNA's selected coco grade produces a naturally fibrous, open structure that drains freely and holds sufficient moisture — excellent for high-frequency watering programmes.
Optimised for CANNA Coco Developed to pair with CANNA Coco A&B — the substrate's characteristics are calibrated to the nutrient system for predictable, consistent results through veg and flower.

Grower Tip
  • Even though Coco Professional Plus is pre-buffered, run your first 1–2 feeds at a slightly lower EC than usual to allow the medium to fully equilibrate before pushing to full-strength feeding rates.
  • CANNA Coco is designed for high-frequency watering — feeding to runoff once or twice daily in larger containers is normal and expected. Monitor runoff EC and flush when accumulation is detected.
  • Mix with 10–20% extra perlite if you are growing in very large containers or running lower watering frequency — the added drainage prevents waterlogging between feeds.

How to Use

1
Pre-wet the coco — Moisten with pH-adjusted water (5.5–6.2) before planting to activate the buffer and ensure even moisture distribution through the medium.
2
Fill containers — Fill pots leaving room at the top for watering. If mixing with additional perlite, combine before filling at a ratio of 80–90% coco to 10–20% perlite.
3
Transplant — Place seedlings, clones, or rooted cuttings into the pre-wetted coco. Avoid compacting the medium around the root zone.
4
Begin feeding — Start CANNA Coco A&B at the recommended veg rate from the CANNA Coco feed chart. Always add A to water first, then B.
5
Monitor runoff EC — Water to runoff on every feed. Check runoff EC regularly and flush with pH-adjusted water when it climbs significantly above your feed EC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does CANNA Coco Professional Plus need additional buffering before use?

No. It is fully buffered before bagging and ready to use directly. A light pre-wet with pH-adjusted water before planting is still recommended to ensure even moisture throughout the medium before introducing plants.

What does RHP certified mean?

RHP is a Dutch quality mark for growing media used in professional horticulture. RHP certification means the substrate has been independently tested and verified to meet strict standards for quality, consistency, and safety for plant cultivation — growers can expect the same performance from every bag.

Can I use Coco Professional Plus with nutrients other than CANNA Coco A&B?

Yes. Coco Professional Plus is compatible with any coco-specific nutrient programme. Ensure you are using a nutrient formula designed for coco — general soil or hydro nutrients are not formulated for coir's cation exchange characteristics.

How often should I water in coco?

Coco is designed for frequent watering — unlike soil, it does not hold nutrients between feeds. Most growers water to runoff once or twice daily in active veg and flower, adjusting frequency based on container size, plant size, and ambient temperature. Always water to runoff to prevent salt accumulation.

What is the difference between Coco Professional Plus and standard CANNA Coco?

Professional Plus uses a more refined coco grade with more consistent fibre length and structure, and undergoes additional processing steps compared to standard coco products. The result is a more open, airy medium with more predictable water distribution — particularly noticeable in larger containers where structure consistency matters most.
