When new growth comes through pale or patchy, the base nutrient is not always the problem: sometimes one of the trace elements is running short or not getting through. Liquid Trace Elements is Growth Technology's chelated mineral solution for that job, carrying iron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper and molybdenum in a liquid you add to the water. The label direction is 2ml per litre, used weekly until the problem is corrected, or 1ml per litre as a leaf spray in low light, and GT also directs it to lift trace levels during periods of prolific growth. It is a corrective, not a complete feed: the label analysis lists trace elements only, so it runs alongside your normal nutrient. Made in Australia. Available in 250ml, 1L and 5L.

A corrective, not a base feed. Use it alongside a complete nutrient such as Ionic Grow or Complete Focus, at 2ml per litre weekly until the problem clears. The label does not direct it for every watering.
Six trace elements, one bottleIron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper and molybdenum: the micronutrients plants need in small amounts, and the ones that show first in new growth when they run short.
Chelated to stay availableGrowth Technology describes it as a chelated mineral solution. Chelation keeps metals like iron in a form the plant can take up rather than dropping out of solution.
Root feed or leaf spray2ml per litre in the feed water, or 1ml per litre as a foliar spray in low light when you want it straight onto the leaf.
Weekly, until it is fixedThe label direction is weekly use until the problem is corrected, then stop. At 2ml per litre a 250ml bottle treats 125 litres.
For periods of prolific growthGrowth Technology's label also directs it to lift trace levels while plants are growing hard and drawing more from the feed.

Grower's Tip

  • Check the pH before you reach for this bottle. Trace elements are hard for roots to take up when the pH is out of range, and no supplement fixes that.
  • Treat it as a course, not a habit: weekly until new growth comes through clean, then stop. That is the label direction.
  • Judge it on new growth. Leaves already marked by a shortage rarely recover; the fix shows in the leaves that come after.
  • To get it straight onto the leaf, use the 1ml per litre spray in low light alongside the weekly root dose.
  • Measure with a syringe. At 1–2ml per litre, a splash from the bottle is several times the dose.
  • If the same symptoms keep coming back, look at the base nutrient, the water and the pH rather than running trace elements indefinitely.

How To Use It

1Check the pH of your nutrient solution and correct it first.
2Mix your base nutrient at its normal rate.
3Add 2ml of Liquid Trace Elements per litre and stir it through.
4Feed as normal. Repeat once a week until new growth comes through without the problem, then stop.
5For a leaf spray, dilute 1ml per litre of water and mist the leaves in low light.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much Liquid Trace Elements do I use?

2ml per litre of water, weekly until the problem is corrected. As a leaf spray, 1ml per litre of water, sprayed in low light.

Can I use it at every watering?

No. The label direction is weekly use until the problem is corrected, then stop. It is a corrective, not part of the everyday feed.

Can I spray it on the leaves?

Yes. Dilute 1ml per litre of water and spray in low light, as the label directs.

Does it replace my base nutrient?

No. The label analysis lists trace elements only, with no nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium or magnesium. Use it alongside a complete nutrient.

Which elements does it contain?

Iron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper and molybdenum, in a chelated mineral solution. The typical analysis is printed on the label.

Will it fix yellow leaves?

Not always. Yellowing has several causes, including pH, watering and shortages of nitrogen or magnesium, which this bottle does not supply. If a trace element is the problem, it is the right tool; check the pH first.

Can I use it in coco, soil and hydro?

Yes. The label gives one rate in water and does not restrict the growing medium, so it goes into whatever nutrient solution you feed with.

Which size should I buy?

At 2ml per litre, the 250ml treats 125 litres and the 1L treats 500 litres, enough to correct most home setups. The 5L is for larger systems.

Welcome to The Grow Guys

We built The Grow Guys from the soil up — well, coco and perlite. Before we sold gear, we bought it, ran it, and learned the hard way what's worth the money and what ends up in the shed. That's the filter everything on our shelves passes through. No sales scripts, no rebadged junk, no telling you what you want to hear. Just gear we'd run ourselves and advice from people who actually grow. Chasing higher yields, tighter flowers, or your first harvest? You're in the right place.
