Pairs well with
Heavy flowers on weak stems end in snapped branches and a canopy held together with yoyos. Silica by Bloom is a two-part silicon blend: potassium silicate (53.2% on the label) plus monosilicic acid, the form of silicon plants take up directly. It's built to reinforce stems and cell walls from veg through early flower so the plant can carry its own weight. It's strong stuff: 0.33ml per litre, poured into plain water first and on its own before anything else goes in, and a litre makes 3,000 litres of feed. The label carries a Caution S5 warning and the concentrate is strongly alkaline, so gloves on, and adjust pH after everything is mixed. It strengthens the plant; it isn't a pest or disease treatment.

Grower's Tip
- Silica goes in first, every time. Fill the reservoir with plain water, add Silica, stir it through, then add everything else.
- Measure it with a syringe or small dosing cup. At 0.33ml per litre, a 10-litre tank takes just 3.3ml.
- It's strongly alkaline, so it will push your pH up. Mix everything in, then adjust pH last.
- Taper it off in late bloom. Bloom runs it hardest through veg and early flower, when stems are being built.
- Gloves and eye protection on when measuring the concentrate, and store it capped and out of reach of children.
- More isn't better. At 53.2% potassium silicate, sticking to 0.33ml per litre is what keeps the mix clean.

Pairs Well With
Bloom's root promoter. Strong roots below, strong stems above.
Pre by BloomMore lateral branches in early veg, and Silica gives them the strength to carry flowers.
Grow A&B by BloomBloom's two-part veg base. Silica goes in the tank first, then Grow A&B.
Cal by BloomCalcium and magnesium for cell walls and leaves. Goes in after the base, with Silica still first.
pH & EC MetersSilica pushes pH up, so a reliable pen makes the final adjustment quick.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Bloom Silica potassium silicate or monosilicic acid?
Both. It's a blend of potassium silicate, listed on the label as the 53.2% active ingredient, and monosilicic acid, the form of silicon plants take up directly.
How much Bloom Silica do I use?
0.33ml per litre, added first to plain water on its own. A 10-litre tank takes 3.3ml.
Why does it have to go in first?
Bloom's directions put it into plain water first, on its own, before anything else. It's a strongly alkaline concentrate and shouldn't meet other concentrates undiluted.
Will Silica raise my pH?
Yes. It's strongly alkaline, so add it first and adjust pH last, after everything else is in.
Does Silica stop pests or mildew?
No. We don't sell it as a pest or disease treatment. Its job is stronger stems and cell walls.
When do I stop using it?
Run it every feed through veg and early flower, then taper off in late bloom.
Is it dangerous to handle?
Yes, with care. The label is Caution S5. Wear gloves and eye protection, keep it out of reach of children, and call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 if it's swallowed or gets in your eyes.
How long does a bottle last?
A litre makes 3,000 litres of feed at 0.33ml per litre. The 5L makes 15,000 litres.
Is it certified organic?
No. Bloom makes the range mostly from organic sources, but the products are not certified organic, so we don't sell them as organic.
