The Hydrone 5 is a plant dehumidifier built for grow tents up to 4x4, rated by AC Infinity for four plants. Instead of a compressor thumping on and off, it runs a PWM rotary motor across ten distinct drying levels with instant response — so you hold a humidity target rather than swinging around it. Dual 6-inch duct ports let you send dry air exactly where it is needed or run a closed loop, and the onboard UIS port hands control to an AC Infinity smart controller for full VPD automation.

- Every dehumidifier adds heat as it works. In summer, park the unit outside the tent and duct the dry air in, or you will win on humidity and lose on temperature
- Run the gravity drain if you are in late flower. A 2L reservoir fills faster than you think when the plants are transpiring hard, and a full tank means it stops working
- Lower levels in veg, higher in late flower. Match drying output to plant mass rather than leaving it flat out all cycle
- Closed-loop is more efficient but recirculates the unit's own heat. Open-loop with outside intake air runs cooler if your room allows it
- Pair it with a controller and set VPD targets rather than raw RH. Humidity alone will not tell you what the plants are experiencing

Will the Hydrone 5 handle a 5x5 tent?
Yes, it has the potential to — but do not expect it to land you exactly where you want to be. AC Infinity rates the Hydrone 5 for tents up to 4x4 with four plants. Put it in a 5x5 and it will still pull humidity down and make a real difference, it just may not hold a tight target, particularly with a full canopy in late flower. If you are sitting on that line, talk to us and we will work out whether one unit gets you there or you are better off stepping up.
Is it better than a normal household dehumidifier?
Yes, for a grow room. Household compressor units cycle hard, overshoot the setpoint, and lose capacity badly in cold conditions. The PWM rotary motor gives ten modulated levels with instant response, which is what holds a steady VPD. It also ducts, which a floor-standing household unit does not.
Can it control humidity automatically?
Yes, with a controller. On its own the Hydrone 5 runs at whichever of the ten levels you set. Connect the integrated UIS port to an AC Infinity smart controller and it will adjust output automatically against humidity or VPD targets, with app access, data charts and alerts.
Do I have to keep emptying the reservoir?
No, if you set up the drain. The internal reservoir holds 2L, which fills quickly during heavy transpiration. Fit the gravity drain hose and route it to a drain or a bucket sitting below the unit and it runs continuously without intervention.
Can I run it outside the tent?
Yes, and often you should. The dual 6-inch ports let you duct dry air into the tent while the unit sits outside, which saves floor space and keeps the heat it generates out of your growing environment. Add intake ducting back from the tent if you want a closed loop.
Is ducting included?
No. Ducting is sold separately and you will want standard 6-inch to match the ports. Plan on one run for the exhaust as a minimum, plus a second if you are setting up closed loop. The gravity drain hose is supplied with the unit.
