- Hang the unit at canopy height, out of direct light and away from heater or humidifier outlets. The number you act on should be the air the plants are living in, not the microclimate next to a piece of equipment.
- The probe reads temperature only — humidity is measured at the main unit. So keep the unit itself inside the tent, and use the probe for the second spot you're curious about: floor level, a propagation shelf, or the ambient room outside for comparison.

Do I need the app to use it?
No. The LCD shows temperature, humidity, comfort indicators and max/min on its own. The app adds the parts you can't get from a screen — VPD calculation, alerts, two years of graphed history and data export — so it's worth pairing, but the unit stands alone.
Is it Wi-Fi or Bluetooth? Can I check it from work?
The AeroLab itself is Bluetooth, so live readings and alerts reach your phone while you're in range — around the house, not across town. For remote access away from home, pair it with a Wi-Fi GrowHub controller (A10, A22S, E25 or E42A) and view its data through the hub in the VIVOSUN app.
What does the external probe measure?
Temperature, on a 3.6m lead with a wide -40°C to 125°C detection range. Humidity is measured by the main unit's built-in sensor. That gives you two temperature channels — canopy and floor, tent and dome, or inside and outside — from one device.
What is VPD and why should I care?
Vapour pressure deficit combines temperature and humidity into the single number that drives how hard plants transpire. Two tents at the same temperature can sit at very different VPDs, and it's VPD the plants respond to. The app calculates it live, which is exactly the figure you want when you're deciding whether the environment needs adjusting.
What batteries does it take?
Three AAA batteries. Battery power is part of the point — it mounts anywhere in the tent without needing a powerpoint or a cable run through a port.
Which GrowHub controllers does it work with?
