These adapter dongles let an AC Infinity UIS controller drive a grow light that isn't an AC Infinity light. Pick the type that matches how your light dims — Type-A for RJ11/RJ12 fixtures using PWM or 0-10V, Type-B for older RJ11/RJ12 fixtures using resistor dimming, Type-D for wiring straight into the DIM+ and DIM- terminals on an LED driver. Once it's connected, your light joins the same schedules, light cycles and climate triggers as the rest of your UIS gear.

Check your light before you order These adapters do not work with every grow light. Compatibility is decided by the specific model and its dimming method, not the brand. AC Infinity lists fixtures from Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer, HLG, ViparSpectra, Volt and Medic Grow among others, but not every model from those brands is supported. Find your light's dimming type in its manual first, then pick the matching adapter. If you are unsure, ask us before you buy.

Specifications

Type-A (AC-ADL7)
RJ11/RJ12 fixtures with PWM or 0-10V dimmers. Includes a 10 ft RJ11/RJ12 extension cable.
Type-B (AC-ADL8)
RJ11/RJ12 fixtures with resistor dimmers. Dongle length 25.4 cm (10 in.).
Type-D (AC-ADL9)
LED driver dimming wires via DIM+ / DIM- screw terminals, 0-10V protocol.
Male end
UIS
Female end
RJ11/RJ12 on Type-A and Type-B, screw terminal block on Type-D
Controller compatibility
Controller 69, 69 PRO, 69 PRO+, Controller AI+
Power
Lighting adapters do not deliver power to the controller — a UIS device or UIS power adapter is required
Brand compatibility
Model dependent. Includes fixtures from Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer, HLG, ViparSpectra, Volt and Medic Grow
Getting it right first go
  • Your light's dimming method decides the type, not its brand or wattage. The manual will name it.
  • Type-D dimming wires are low voltage and usually purple and grey. Strip about 5 mm, DIM+ into the plus terminal, DIM- into the minus, and tighten the screws properly.
  • Keep the controller firmware current or it may not recognise the adapter.
  • Wire one light and test the full dimming range before you commit the rest of the room to it.

How To Set It Up

1Find your light's dimming method in its manual: PWM, 0-10V, resistor, or bare dimming wires off the driver.
2Match it to a type: A for PWM or 0-10V over RJ11/RJ12, B for resistor over RJ11/RJ12, D for driver dimming wires.
3Connect the adapter to the light. Type-A and Type-B plug into the RJ port. Type-D lands the DIM+ and DIM- wires into the terminal block.
4Plug the UIS end into a free port on your controller. Make sure the controller is drawing power from a UIS device or power adapter.
5Open the app, set your light cycle and any climate triggers, then run the dimmer from zero to full to confirm the light tracks it.

Questions Growers Ask

Will this work with any grow light?

No. Compatibility comes down to the specific model and its dimming method. AC Infinity supports a long list of fixtures from brands like Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer, HLG, ViparSpectra, Volt and Medic Grow, but not every model within those brands. Check your light's manual for its dimming type before ordering, and ask us if it isn't clear.

Which type do I need?

It depends on how your light dims. Type-A suits RJ11/RJ12 fixtures using PWM or 0-10V dimming. Type-B suits older RJ11/RJ12 fixtures using resistor dimming. Type-D is for lights where you wire directly into the driver's DIM+ and DIM- control wires.

Does the adapter power my controller?

No. Lighting adapters pass control signal only. Your controller still needs power from a connected UIS device such as a CLOUDLINE fan, or from a separate UIS power adapter. This catches people out when a controller is running lights and nothing else.

Can I run these through a UIS Splitter Hub?

No. The UIS Splitter Hub is not compatible with RJ11/12 Type-A or Type-B adapters. Lighting adapters need their own port on the controller.

Can I control more than one light from one adapter?

Yes, if your lights support daisy-chaining. Link the fixtures using the manufacturer's own daisy-chain method, then run the adapter from the first light in the chain to your controller.

What do the Type-D dimming wires look like?

They are the low-voltage control wires coming off the LED driver, commonly purple and grey, marked DIM+ and DIM- or similar. Strip roughly 5 mm of insulation, seat each wire in its matching terminal, and tighten the screws down firmly.
