Will this kit fit on a standard heat mat?
Yes. The 545 x 280mm base tray sits cleanly on standard propagation heat mats in the 525 x 225mm range — the tray slightly overhangs, which is normal and improves heat coverage.
Can I use this for seeds as well as cuttings?
Yes. The 180mm dome height handles seed trays and cell inserts comfortably, and the adjustable vents let you run higher humidity for fresh seeds then taper down as seedlings establish.
How many cuttings or seedlings does it hold?
Depends on plant size. For cuttings we recommend no more than 28 per tray — any more and it gets too overcrowded, airflow drops and you'll see more rot and fewer strikes. Smaller plants fit happily in higher numbers. The tray also holds an Eazy Plug 66-cell tray perfectly if you're starting seedlings or smaller cuttings.
Is the dome reusable?
Yes. All three pieces are heavy-duty plastic built for multiple seasons. Wipe down between rounds with a mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide solution to keep things clean.
Does the base tray have drainage holes?
No. The base tray is solid by design so it holds the water layer beneath the mesh tray. Drainage happens through the mesh into the base — exactly what you want for propagation.
