Avert Terp Fresh is a compostable two-way humidity pack that holds your jar at a steady 62% RH — the sweet spot for preserving terpenes, potency and smoke quality after harvest. Drop one in a sealed container and it absorbs excess moisture when herbs are still damp, then releases moisture back when the air dries out. No more brittle, dusty buds. No more mould scares. The 14g size is built for the standard small jar load and works just as well in dispensary bags and bulk bins when you stack them up.

Locked at 62% RH Two-way control absorbs and releases moisture to hold the storage sweet spot.
Protects terpenes Stops the aromatic compounds drying out and oxidising in storage.
Compostable build Food-safe materials that break down — toss spent packs in the worm farm.
Sized for 14g jars One pack per small jar or pouch. Scale up by quantity, not by pack size.

GROWER'S TIP
  • Wait until your buds hit around 65% RH before sealing — packing wet herb with a humidity pack is asking for mould.
  • One pack per small jar. Bigger jars (500ml+) deserve two for a quicker pull-down.
  • Stash a humidity indicator card in the jar so you can read RH at a glance without opening it.
  • The 100 Pack is the move for dispensaries, dryers running multiple bins, and anyone who hates running out mid-cure.

How to Use

1
Dry your herb first. Hang dry until stems snap rather than bend — usually 7–14 days at 18–21°C and 55–60% RH.
2
Load your container. Jar up dried herb without packing it too tight — air space matters for the cure.
3
Drop in one TERP Fresh pack. Sit it on top of the herb. No need to mix it through.
4
Burp for the first week. Crack the lid for 30 seconds once a day to release moisture and freshen the air.
5
Swap when stiff. When the pack hardens or your indicator card slips under 58%, change it out. Most packs last 2–4 months in regular use.

FAQ

How long does an Avert Terp Fresh pack last?

In a properly sealed jar, expect two to four months of active control. The pack tells you it's done by going stiff and chalky — once that happens, swap it out. Cheap to replace, expensive to ignore.

Is Avert Terp Fresh the same as Boveda?

Yes — same two-way humidity principle, same 62% RH target, same use case. Avert is the Australian-friendly compostable alternative at a cleaner price point, especially in 10 and 100 packs.

Can I reuse or recharge the pack?

No — once the pack is hard, the salt brine inside is spent. Toss it in the compost or worm farm and load a fresh one. Trying to rehydrate it will throw off the RH calibration.

What size jar suits the 14g pack?

One 14g pack is calibrated for around 14g of herb — that fits a 100ml to 250ml jar comfortably. Larger jars (500ml or 1L) want two packs for a quicker, more stable pull-down.

Will it work in a smell-proof bag instead of a jar?

Yes — sealed mylar foil bags like the Avert Foil Fresh range are an excellent home for Terp Fresh packs. Just make sure the seal is fully zipped each time you close the bag.

Is the 100 Pack worth it for home growers?

If you run more than one harvest a year or share gear with mates, yes. The case price drops the effective per-pack cost to under two dollars, and they keep in their sealed bag for 12+ months before opening.

Why 62% and not 58% or 65%?

62% RH is the long-standing standard for preserving terpenes without inviting mould. Below 58% the herb dries out and the smoke gets harsh; above 65% you're in mould territory. 62% is the safe middle that most growers and dispensaries settle on.
