The HOMEbox Ambient Q30 is the smallest tent HOMEbox makes — 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.6m, a 1 x 1ft footprint that tucks into the corner of a bedroom, kitchen or office without announcing itself. It is a propagation box first: 0.09m² for seedlings, cuttings and young plants you will move out to the garden come spring. Same German build as the full-size Ambients, with the PAR+ reflective lining and a waterproof shelf included.
Specifications
- The 20kg frame rating is the number to respect. A small LED bar or a compact fluorescent hangs fine — a fan and carbon filter do not. If you need extraction, mount it outside the tent and duct to the Ø100mm roof tube.
- The rear Ø150mm OmniFlow airvent is your intake. Leave it open and let the roof tube vent passively — at 0.09m² that is usually all the air movement a tray of seedlings needs.
- Keep the wattage low. A 30cm box heats up fast, and cooking your cuttings is the most common way this tent gets misused.
- Great as a clone or seedling station next to a bigger tent — start them in here, move them across when they are rooted.

Yes. At 30 x 30cm it is a 1 x 1ft footprint, 60cm tall — the smallest tent in the HOMEbox Ambient range and one of the smallest proper grow tents available anywhere.
Can I grow a plant start to finish in the Q30?
No. With 60cm of height and 0.09m² of floor, the Q30 is a propagation and early-veg box — seedlings, cuttings, herbs and young plants headed outdoors. For a full cycle in a small space, step up to the Q60+ or Q80+.
Does the Q30 come with a shelf?
Yes. A waterproof shelf is included, so a watered tray sits inside the tent rather than on your furniture.
Can I hang a fan and carbon filter in the Q30?
No. The frame is rated to 20kg, which covers a small light and not much else. If you need extraction, mount the fan outside the tent and duct it to the Ø100mm roof tube.
Does the Q30 need a powerful light?
No. HOMEbox designed this one around low-wattage lighting — a small LED or a compact fluorescent. The PAR+ lining does a lot of the work, and anything larger will overheat 0.09m² of space.
