Pairs well with
Back Country Blend Grow is Green Planet's controlled-release granular base nutrient for the vegetative stage — the "set and forget" half of feeding an outdoor or container garden. Top dress it around the base of your plants or mix it through the soil, water it in, and it delivers a steady N-P-K-Ca feed for weeks at a time with no bottles, no measuring jugs, and no daily mixing. Part of the Back Country Blend outdoor feed program alongside Bloom and Boost.
Specifications
- It's concentrated — measure carefully and start light. You can always add more; you can't take it back out.
- Heat, humidity, and rainfall speed up release. In hot or wet conditions, back the rate off slightly to avoid over-fertilising.
- Top dress inside the drip line — only where the water actually lands. With drippers, split the dose into small piles under each dripper.
- Application rates scale with pot size and plant height — check Green Planet's online nutrient calculator for your setup.

FAQ
Is Back Country Blend Grow for the vegetative stage?
Yes. Grow is the vegetative-stage formula in the Back Country Blend program, with two nitrogen sources measured for leafy, vigorous growth. Bloom takes over for flowering, and Boost adds extra PK alongside it.
How often do I apply it?
Apply at week 1 and week 4 of veg, or every 4 weeks as needed. Stop use 2 weeks before flower and move to the Bloom formula.
Will it burn my plants?
No, not when applied at the recommended rate — the controlled-release granules are designed to feed gradually and avoid burning. It is concentrated though, so measure carefully and reduce the rate in hot or wet conditions where release speeds up. If tip burn appears, irrigate with fresh water.
Is it organic?
No. Back Country Blend is a mineral controlled-release fertiliser with added humic acids — it supports soil microbial life but isn't a certified organic input. If you're running a strictly organic garden, look at our organic soil feeds instead.
Can I use it in pots as well as garden beds?
Yes. It works as a top dress or mixed through the media in containers, raised beds, and open ground, in both soil and coco. Rates scale with pot size, so check Green Planet's nutrient calculator for your containers.
