Pairs well with
Herbs on a kitchen windowsill or in a hydro kit run through the nutrients in their pot fast, and a general feed pushed at them tends to give soft, leggy growth with less flavour. Herb Focus is Growth Technology's complete liquid nutrient for culinary herbs, made in Australia and formulated for basil, parsley, coriander, thyme and dill, and for leafy green vegetables. It carries all 12 essential minerals with nitrogen as nitrate, no urea, chlorides or sodium, and pH buffering for tap water, at a gentler dose than the fruiting Focus lines: 3–5ml per litre in potting mix, 5–7ml in hydro. Available in 250ml, 1L, 5L and 20L.

Grower's Tip
- Start at 3ml per litre on seedlings and small pots and move up as the plants fill out. Growth Technology's direction is to increase strength gradually as the plant approaches maturity.
- Harvest little and often. Regular picking keeps basil and coriander leafy and slows them running to seed, and the feed replaces what you take.
- Pinch out basil flower spikes as they appear. Once a herb flowers, leaf production slows no matter how well it is fed.
- Small pots on a sunny windowsill dry quickly and concentrate salts. Water to runoff and flush with plain water once a month.
- In a countertop hydro kit, replace the solution every fortnight rather than topping up.
- Store the concentrate cool and dark and shake before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which herbs is Herb Focus for?
Culinary herbs generally. Growth Technology names basil, parsley, coriander, thyme and dill, and it suits mint, chives, oregano and the rest of the kitchen garden.
Can I use it on lettuce and leafy greens?
Yes. Growth Technology directs growers of leafy green vegetables to Herb Focus rather than Vegetable Focus.
Does it contain urea?
No. Herb Focus is free from urea, chlorides and sodium. Nitrogen is supplied as nitrate.
How much do I use?
3–5ml per litre of water in soil and potting mix, 5–7ml per litre in hydro and semi-hydro, at every watering. Flush with plain water once a month.
Do I need to adjust the pH?
No, not with most tap water. It is pH buffered.
Can I use it in a countertop hydroponic herb kit?
Yes. It is formulated for hydroponics as well as soil. Use 5–7ml per litre and replace the reservoir every fortnight.
Why is my basil going leggy?
Usually not enough light, or the plant is starting to flower. Move it somewhere brighter and pinch out flower spikes. More fertiliser will not fix legginess.
What is the NPK?
Growth Technology publishes a full analysis rather than a ratio: nitrate-nitrogen 2.1%, phosphorus 0.5% and potassium 3.0% w/v, plus calcium, magnesium, sulfur and six chelated trace elements. The full table is in Specifications.
How long does a mixed solution last?
About 1–2 weeks. After that, replace it.
