The Bluelab Probe Care Kit – pH & Conductivity is the complete service kit for your pH and EC meters in one box. Nutrient salts, oils and organic matter build up on probe faces over time, and a dirty probe reads wrong — which means your whole feed chart is working off bad numbers. This kit gives you both probe cleaners, calibration and storage solutions, and the cleaning tools to bring your readings back to accurate and keep them there. One monthly service takes about as long as brushing your teeth.

OnePen Owners — Read This First The Conductivity Probe Cleaner in this kit is not compatible with the Bluelab OnePen (PENONE) or its Replacement Probe (PROBONE). Everything else in the kit — pH cleaner, calibration sachets, KCl storage solution — is fine to use with the OnePen. Never soak a OnePen's titanium EC electrodes in cleaning solution.
Full Service In One Box Cleaners, calibration sachets, KCl storage solution, brush, chamois and cups — nothing else to buy for a complete probe service.
Restores Reading Accuracy Removes the salt and residue build-up that causes pH drift and low EC readings, so your meter tells you the truth.
Proper 2-Point Calibration Two sachets each of pH 7.0 and pH 4.0 — enough for two full calibrations done the way Bluelab specifies.
Extends Probe Life Regular cleaning and correct KCl storage is the difference between a probe that lasts and one you replace every season.

Grow Guys Tips
  • Service monthly. If your EC reading looks low, that is the classic sign the conductivity probe needs a clean.
  • pH calibration is always 2-point: pH 7.0 first, then pH 4.0. A single-point calibration will not hold.
  • EC probes are never calibrated — the 2.77 EC solution is for verifying your probe reads true after cleaning.
  • Store pH probes wet in KCl storage solution. Never in RO, distilled or deionised water — it will damage the probe.

How To Service Your Probes

1 Rinse both probes in fresh tap water. Never rub or wipe a pH probe face — it holds a static charge that rubbing destroys.
2 Clean the pH probe with pH Probe Cleaner using the supplied toothbrush, working gently around the glass bulb and junction.
3 Clean the conductivity probe with Conductivity Probe Cleaner and the chamois. Skip this cleaner entirely if your meter is a OnePen.
4 Rinse both probes again in fresh tap water to remove all cleaner residue.
5 Calibrate the pH probe in the supplied cups: pH 7.0 solution first, then pH 4.0. Follow your meter's calibration prompts.
6 Dip the conductivity probe in 2.77 EC standard solution and check it reads 2.77. If it does, the clean worked.
7 Store the pH probe with its tip wet in KCl storage solution until the next use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this kit work with all Bluelab pH and EC meters?

Yes, with one exception — the Conductivity Probe Cleaner is not compatible with the Bluelab OnePen (PENONE) or its Replacement Probe (PROBONE). The calibration sachets, KCl storage solution and pH Probe Cleaner suit the full Bluelab range, including pens, Combo Meters, Guardian Monitors and controllers.

Do I need to calibrate my conductivity probe?

No. Bluelab conductivity probes are factory calibrated and never need recalibrating. The 2.77 EC standard solution in this kit is for testing — dip the clean probe in it and if it reads 2.77, your probe is accurate.

Can I store my pH probe in distilled or RO water?

No. Pure water pulls ions out of the glass bulb and reference junction, which causes drift and can permanently damage the probe. Always store pH probes with the tip wet in KCl storage solution — that is exactly what the KCl sachets in this kit are for.

How often should I service my probes?

Monthly is Bluelab's recommendation for a full clean, calibrate and test. Clean sooner if readings look sluggish or your EC probe starts reading low — that is the tell-tale sign of build-up on the probe face.

Will this kit work on non-Bluelab meters?

Yes, mostly. The pH 4.0 and 7.0 calibration solutions, 2.77 EC standard and KCl storage solution are standard reference solutions that suit most glass-bulb pH probes and EC meters. Check your meter's manual for its cleaning requirements before using the probe cleaners on other brands.

Growers First, Retailers Second

Welcome to The Grow Guys

We built The Grow Guys from the soil up — well, coco and perlite. Before we sold gear, we bought it, ran it, and learned the hard way what's worth the money and what ends up in the shed. That's the filter everything on our shelves passes through. No sales scripts, no rebadged junk, no telling you what you want to hear. Just gear we'd run ourselves and advice from people who actually grow. Chasing higher yields, tighter flowers, or your first harvest? You're in the right place.
