The 1000W DE HPS Lamp by Ignator is a double-ended high pressure sodium bulb built for commercial-scale flowering rooms and serious indoor setups. Pumping out 1700 µmol/s PPF and 2145 µmol/s YPF at an efficiency of 2.14 µmol/J, this is a flowering workhorse — designed to deliver consistent, deep canopy penetration across veg and bloom. Drops into any standard 1000W DE reflector and runs on high-frequency electronic ballasts.

1700 µmol/s PPF High photon flux output for commercial-scale flowering — drives heavy yields across larger canopies.
2145 µmol/s YPF Spectrum-weighted yield for photosynthesis, so plants use more of the light the lamp puts out.
Double-Ended Stability DE construction is more stable than single-ended, holds output longer, and runs with less degradation.
2.14 µmol/J Efficiency Strong photon-per-watt ratio for an HPS — keeps power bills sensible for the output you get.

Heads Up — Lamp Care Basics
  • DE lamps run hotter than SE — make sure your extraction can handle it before firing one up.
  • Never restart a hot lamp. Wait at least 10 minutes after power-off before re-igniting, or you'll cook the bulb early.
  • Always handle with clean gloves or a soft cloth. Skin oils on the quartz cause hot spots and shorten lamp life.
  • DE lamps are not interchangeable with SE bulbs — make sure your reflector is DE-compatible with K12x30s sockets.
  • This is a digital-ballast lamp only. Magnetic ballasts will not run a DE HPS.

How To Use

1
Confirm your reflector is rated for 1000W DE lamps and uses K12x30s double-ended sockets. SE reflectors won't work.
2
Make sure your ballast is a high-frequency 1000W DE digital electronic. Magnetic ballasts will not run this lamp.
3
Power down everything, let any previous lamp cool fully, and use clean gloves or a cloth when fitting the new bulb.
4
Slot the lamp into both DE sockets — make sure both ends are fully seated. Don't force it.
5
Hang the reflector at the right canopy distance and check your extraction is dialled in — 1000W DE puts out serious heat.
6
Power up — full output takes around 15 minutes to settle in. Watch canopy temps and adjust hang height as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this lamp run on a magnetic ballast?

No. DE HPS lamps require a high-frequency digital electronic ballast. Magnetic ballasts cycle too slow and won't fire a DE bulb correctly. If you're on a magnetic setup, look at single-ended (SE) lamps instead.

Is this lamp double-ended or single-ended?

Double-ended (DE). It's not compatible with single-ended (SE) reflectors that use E40 mogul sockets. You need a DE reflector with K12x30s sockets.

What's the difference between PPF and YPF?

PPF (1700 µmol/s) measures the total photons in the photosynthetically active range. YPF (2145 µmol/s) weights those photons by how efficiently plants actually use each wavelength. The higher the YPF, the more usable light your plants get from the same lamp.

Can I use this for veg as well as flower?

Yes. HPS skews red-orange and is built for flowering, but it'll get the job done in late veg and right through bloom. For early veg, most growers prefer a Metal Halide spectrum to keep nodal spacing tight.

How long does a DE HPS lamp last?

DE HPS lamps typically hold 90% or better output past 10,000 hours of use. Most growers replace them after 12 to 18 months of cycle use. Watch your canopy — softer growth and looser flower density are signs the lamp's degrading.

What size space does a 1000W DE cover?

A 1000W DE HPS typically covers a 1.5m x 1.5m flowering footprint comfortably. Push out to 1.8m x 1.8m for veg or supplemental lighting. Smaller spaces will need more height to keep the lamp off the canopy.

Do you ship Australia-wide?

Yes — we ship across Australia from our Tasmanian base. Free shipping kicks in over $499*. DE lamps are packed carefully to handle transit, but if anything arrives damaged, give us a yell and we'll sort it.

Commercial Output. Sensible Power Bills.

1700 µmol/s of bloom-grade light at 2.14 µmol/J — for growers who need real flowering muscle.
