One pen. Five readings. The Aqua Master Tools P160 Pro2 is the all-in-one combo meter that serious growers reach for when they want pH, EC, TDS, PPM, and temperature covered without carrying a kit bag of separate devices. It comes ready to go in a robust carry case with calibration solutions for pH 4.01, pH 7.00, and EC 1413 already included — so you can calibrate and start measuring on day one. The Pro2 upgrade brings a high-contrast black-and-white display, AAA battery power, and digital EC calibration that doesn't need the solution to be sitting at exactly 25°C, making field calibration far less fussy.

5 Parameters, 1 Device pH, EC, TDS, PPM, and temperature — everything you need to dial in your feed and reservoir without swapping pens between readings.
Ships Ready to Calibrate Carry case includes pH 4.01, pH 7.00, and EC 1413 calibration solutions. No need to order extras before your first measurement session.
Temp-Independent EC Cal Digital EC calibration works at any temperature — no need to wait for your calibration fluid to hit exactly 25°C. Calibrate when it suits you.
Dry Storage Electrode Unlike the P50 Pro2, the P160's electrode doesn't need KCl storage solution — dry storage is fine. One less thing to stay on top of between grows.
IP67 Waterproof + Floats Fully submersible and buoyant. Slip it into the reservoir and it comes back up. Built for the conditions of an actual grow room, not a laboratory.
Replaceable Electrode When the probe drifts beyond calibration, swap the electrode rather than the whole meter. Significantly extends the long-term value of the device.

Grower Tips — Getting the Most From Your P160 Pro2
  • The P160 uses a dry storage electrode — no need for KCl solution between uses. Just rinse, dry gently, and replace the protective cap.
  • Calibrate EC first, then pH. EC calibration is temperature-independent, so knock it out at room temp before touching the pH calibration buffers.
  • Use the included EC 1413 calibration solution for your first calibration, then reorder when it runs low — don't ration it. Fresh cal fluid is the cheapest way to keep readings accurate.
  • The 700 PPM scale is set at the factory. If your nutrient brand references 500 PPM scale values, multiply their numbers by 1.4 to convert, or note it when logging feed data.
  • Calibrate pH with the 7.0 buffer first, then 4.0. The meter auto-recognises each point — don't rush the stabilisation time between dips.
  • The 30-day calibration reminder is there for a reason — add it to your grow room checklist and don't skip it mid-cycle.

How to Use the P160 Pro2

1
Calibrate EC first — Remove the protective cap and rinse the electrode with distilled water. Pour a small amount of the included EC 1413 calibration solution into the cap or a clean cup. Dip the meter to the marked line, wait for the reading to stabilise, then confirm the EC calibration point. Because EC calibration on the P160 Pro2 is temperature-independent, you can do this at any room temperature without waiting.
2
Calibrate pH (2-point) — Rinse the electrode between calibration solutions. Enter pH calibration mode and dip into the pH 7.0 buffer first. Wait for a stable reading, then confirm. Rinse again and repeat with pH 4.0 buffer. The meter auto-recognises each buffer and locks in both calibration points automatically.
3
Take your measurement — Press the On/Off button to power up. Insert the meter vertically into your nutrient solution or water sample, submerging to the marked line. Stir gently and wait a few seconds for the reading to stabilise. The meter displays all active parameters in sequence as you cycle through them with the MODE button.
4
Cycle through readings — Use the MODE button to scroll between pH, EC, TDS, PPM, and temperature on the display. You don't need to re-dip between parameters — all five readings are taken from the same dip at the same time.
5
Adjust precision as needed — Toggle between 0.01 and 0.1 resolution for pH, EC, and TDS using the RES button. Use the higher precision setting when dialling in a critical reservoir or logging data. The 0.1 setting is sufficient for routine daily checks.
6
Rinse and store dry — After use, rinse the electrode thoroughly with distilled or RO water and dry gently with a clean cloth. Replace the protective cap. The P160 Pro2 uses a dry storage electrode, so no KCl solution is needed in the cap. The meter auto powers off after 8 minutes, and stores neatly back into its carry case.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the P160 Pro and the P160 Pro2?

The Pro2 upgrades three things over the original P160 Pro: it runs on standard AAA batteries instead of button cells, the display has been changed to a black screen with white characters for significantly improved readability under grow lighting, and the EC calibration has been updated from analogue to digital — meaning it can be performed at any temperature without needing the calibration fluid to be exactly 25°C. The measurement range and accuracy specs are the same across both models.

What does the P160 Pro2 include in the box?

Yes — the P160 Pro2 ships in a robust carry case that includes the meter, AAA batteries, pH 4.01 calibration solution, pH 7.00 calibration solution, and EC 1413 calibration solution. It's the most complete out-of-the-box package in the Aqua Master pen meter range, and one of the main reasons to choose the P160 over the P110 if you don't already have calibration solutions on hand.

What is the difference between the P160 Pro2 and the P110 Pro2?

Both measure pH, EC, and temperature. The P160 Pro2 adds TDS and PPM readings and comes with a carry case and calibration solutions included. The P110 Pro2 is the more compact, pared-back option for growers who only need pH and EC — it costs less and does not include a case or calibration fluids. If you want the full picture in one device and value the included accessories, the P160 Pro2 is the better choice. If you just need pH and EC covered and already own calibration solutions, the P110 Pro2 is a solid option at a lower price point.

What PPM scale does the P160 Pro2 use?

The P160 Pro2 uses the 700 PPM scale, which is the most common scale used by Australian nutrient brands and hydroponic equipment manufacturers. If you're following a feeding schedule that references 500 PPM scale values, multiply those numbers by 1.4 to get the equivalent 700 scale reading. If you're unsure which scale your nutrient brand uses, check the feed chart — it's usually noted in the fine print.

Does the P160 Pro2 need KCl storage solution like other pH meters?

No — the P160 Pro2 uses a dry storage electrode, which means you can store it dry between uses without filling the cap with KCl solution. Rinse the electrode after use, dry it carefully, and replace the protective cap. This makes it considerably lower maintenance than single-parameter pH pen meters that require wet storage to keep the glass membrane active.

Can I use any EC calibration solution with the P160 Pro2?

Yes — this is one of the key advantages of the digital EC calibration system on the P160 Pro2. Because the calibration is not temperature-dependent, you can use any standard EC calibration fluid at any temperature. The included EC 1413 solution works well for the range growers typically operate in. When you need to restock, any quality EC 1413 calibration solution from a reputable brand will do the job.

How often should I calibrate the P160 Pro2?

At a minimum, once per month — the meter's built-in 30-day calibration reminder will prompt you. For high-value crops or critical grow cycles, calibrating weekly is not excessive. An uncalibrated meter gives you false confidence, which is worse than no meter at all when you're making feed decisions based on the reading.

What warranty does the P160 Pro2 come with?

The meter is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the consumer purchase date. The electrode carries a separate 6-month warranty. Proof of purchase is required. Physical damage, misuse, dirt ingress, and damage from third-party parts or unauthorised repairs are not covered.

Five Readings. One Dip. Zero Excuses.

The P160 Pro2 is the combo meter that pays for itself the first time it catches a reservoir out of range before it costs you a crop. Calibration solutions and carry case included — ready to measure from the moment it arrives.
