Green Planet's Professional Coco 70/30 is a ready-to-grow substrate that blends 70% buffered coco coir with 30% perlite in a large 53L bag. The coco holds moisture and buffers your feed; the perlite keeps the root zone open and oxygenated. It's RHP certified, pre-rinsed and pH-balanced, so there's no soaking or buffering to do — open the bag, fill your pots, and plant.

Buffered & Ready to Use Pre-rinsed, pH-balanced and low in salt — no soaking or charging, just open and plant.
RHP Certified A third-party quality mark for water absorption, air content, pH and purity — consistent bag to bag.
Water and Air in Balance 70% coco holds moisture and feed, 30% perlite keeps roots oxygenated and prevents waterlogging.
Versatile Medium Run it standalone, in drip and hydro systems, or work it in as a soil amendment.

The Grow Guys Tip
  • The 30% perlite makes this drain faster than straight coco, so feed a little and often rather than heavy, infrequent waterings.
  • It's already buffered, but a light cal-mag through your early feeds is cheap insurance in any coco mix.
  • It takes worm castings and dry amendments well if you want to build it out into a living mix.

How to Use

1
Open the bag and fill your pots, beds or system straight up — there is no pre-soak or buffering step needed.
2
Plant into it as you would any premium coco medium, then water in to settle the mix.
3
Feed with a coco-suitable nutrient program. Because the perlite drains fast, little and often works better than heavy soaks.
4
Store any unused mix in a cool, dark spot above 4°C to keep it fresh for next time.

FAQ

Do I need to buffer or soak it before planting?

No. It comes buffered, pre-rinsed and pH-balanced, so it's ready to use straight from the bag with no soaking or charging step.

Can I use it in drip and hydro systems?

Yes. The 70/30 blend works as a standalone medium, in drip and recirculating systems, or as a soil amendment.

Do I still need to run cal-mag?

Yes, it's still worth it. Even buffered coco can draw on calcium and magnesium, so a light cal-mag through your feeds is good insurance against deficiencies.

What is RHP certification?

RHP is a growing-media quality mark that checks a substrate for water absorption, air content, pH, nutrients and purity, so you get clean, consistent media in every bag.

How should I store an open bag?

Keep it cool, dark and above 4°C. Reseal or cover the bag to stop it drying out.

Growers First, Retailers Second

Welcome to The Grow Guys

We built The Grow Guys from the soil up — well, coco and perlite. Before we sold gear, we bought it, ran it, and learned the hard way what's worth the money and what ends up in the shed. That's the filter everything on our shelves passes through. No sales scripts, no rebadged junk, no telling you what you want to hear. Just gear we'd run ourselves and advice from people who actually grow. Chasing higher yields, tighter flowers, or your first harvest? You're in the right place.
