Will it fit all crop box sizes?
Yes. The 60 × 40cm footprint fits 23L, 45L, and 65L crop box tubs. Those tubs share the same top dimensions, so one propagator lid covers the lot.
Can I use it on its own as a cloche?
Yes. Drop it over seedlings or fresh transplants outdoors, in the greenhouse, or on a propagation bench — it works as a standalone cloche with no crop box tub required.
How tall is the dome inside?
The dome gives you 17cm of internal headroom — plenty for fresh cuttings and early seedlings before they need transplanting out.
How does it compare to the standard black crop box lid?
Different jobs. The clear propagator dome lets light through and has vents — designed for propagation. The solid black lid blocks all light and seals the tub — designed for nutrient reservoirs or storage. Most setups need both.
Can I run it with all vents closed permanently?
No. Closed vents are fine for the first week of cloning to lock in humidity, but you need to crack vents from week 2 onwards. Without airflow, roots won't develop properly and you'll invite mould and fungal issues.
Will the clear plastic discolour in direct sun?
No. The dome is UV-stable plastic that handles direct sun without yellowing, cracking, or going brittle. Indoor and outdoor use covered.
