Higgins Plant Tonic is an Australian-made biostimulant built around cold-pressed local kelp, fulvic acids from leonardite, microbial exudates, B-group vitamins, and chelated micronutrients. A serious formula for serious growers — designed to support healthy growth, root development, and stress recovery across indoor plants, outdoor plants, lawns, and edibles alike.

Kelp-Powered Growth Australian cold-pressed kelp delivers natural plant hormones, trace minerals, and ocean-derived nutrients that drive lush foliage and strong root systems.
Fulvic Acid Chelation Fulvic acids from leonardite break down locked-up minerals into plant-available form and act as a biostimulant in their own right — unlocking what's already in your soil.
Microbial + Vitamin Boost Bacterial and fungal exudates feed the soil biology your plants depend on. B-group vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B9) round out the formula with metabolic support.
Transplant Stress Relief Built to take the edge off transplant shock and recovery — apply when repotting, moving plants, or any time a plant is under stress from environment or handling.

Application Tip
  • Concentrated biostimulants are powerful at low dilution — always follow the label rate. More is not better. Overdosing kelp and fulvic blends can stress plants and burn foliage.
  • Apply early morning or late afternoon for best uptake. Direct hot sun plus concentrate is a recipe for leaf burn on foliar applications.
  • If you're mixing with other inputs, do a small jar test first — biostimulants are generally compatible with most fertilisers and IPM products but always confirm before tank-mixing.

How to Use Higgins Plant Tonic

1
Shake the bottle before each use. Read the label dilution rate — Higgins Plant Tonic is super concentrated, so a little goes a long way.
2
Mix at the label-specified rate in clean water at room temperature. For foliar feeding, mix in your pressure sprayer. For soil drench, mix in your watering can or reservoir.
3
Apply early morning or late afternoon — never in direct hot sun, especially for foliar applications. Stomata open in cooler conditions and uptake is dramatically better.
4
For transplant or repotting use, water in immediately after planting at the label rate. The kelp and fulvic combination helps settle roots into the new mix and softens transplant shock.
5
Repeat every 2–4 weeks during active growing season, or as the label directs. Reduce frequency in winter when most plants slow down. Store the bottle cool, dark, and tightly sealed between uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Higgins Plant Tonic on both indoor and outdoor plants?

Yes — it's formulated as a general-purpose biostimulant for all plant types. Houseplants, vegetables, ornamentals, fruit trees, and lawns all benefit from the kelp, fulvic, and chelated mineral combination.

Is it safe to use alongside my regular fertiliser?

Yes — biostimulants like this are designed to complement a base feeding program, not replace it. The fulvic acid actually improves nutrient uptake from your existing fertiliser. As with any tank-mix, do a small jar test first if you're combining multiple liquid inputs.

Will Plant Tonic help with transplant shock?

Yes — stress relief and transplant shock mitigation are explicit design goals. The kelp component provides natural plant hormones that support root establishment, and the fulvic acid helps the new root zone access nutrients quickly. Water it in at the label rate right after repotting.

Can I use this as a foliar spray?

Yes — it works as both a soil drench and a foliar feed. Apply foliar in the cooler parts of the day (early morning or late afternoon) to avoid leaf burn, and use a clean sprayer for even coverage.

How often should I apply Plant Tonic?

Every 2–4 weeks during the active growing season is a good general rule, but always follow the label rate and timing on the bottle. Reduce frequency in winter when most plants are dormant or slow-growing. Apply more often during stress periods such as heatwaves, transplant recovery, or pest pressure.

Is the kelp Australian sourced?

Yes — Higgins uses Australian cold-pressed kelp as the primary ingredient. Cold pressing preserves more of the active growth compounds than heat extraction, which is part of why this formula sits on the premium end of the biostimulant shelf.

Should I get the 250mL or the 1L?

The 250mL is the trial size — perfect if you're testing the formula on a small indoor collection or just want to see how your plants respond before committing. The 1L is the everyday-grower size and works out at less than half the per-mL price of the 250mL — if you know you'll keep using it across a full season of fortnightly applications, it's the smarter buy.
