Pairs well with
The HOMEbox Ambient R120S is the narrow one — 1.2 x 0.6 x 1.8m, a 4x2 footprint that gives you a full 1.2m of growing width in only 60cm of room depth. That is shallow enough to sit inside a wardrobe or along a hallway wall where a square tent simply will not go. You still get the PAR+ lining, the OmniFlow directable air vents and a 200mm duct in the roof, so it vents like a proper tent rather than a cupboard.
Specifications
- Lighting: a ULight 360W ECO panel, dimmed back. In a tent this size you want a fixture that physically fits 60cm of depth, and one you can turn down — running a 360W flat out over 0.72m² will cook it.
- Air: a Vivosun AeroZesh 4-inch kit connects straight to the 100mm rear port. Fan, carbon filter and smart controller in one box, sized properly for the space.
- Prefer to vent through the roof? The 200mm duct up top takes an 8-inch kit if you want more pull, though that is more fan than 0.72m² needs.
- This is the lighter HOMEbox frame — Ø16mm poles rated to 75kg, not the 22mm poles on the big Ambients. Keep the hanging gear modest and it will last years.
- Use the two OmniFlow vents as passive intake and aim them at the base of the canopy.
- Measure your light before you buy it. Sixty centimetres of depth rules out a lot of square panels.
Setting It Up
Pairs Well With
Dimmable full-spectrum panel that suits a shallow tent. Turn it down for 0.72m².
Vivosun AeroZesh 4" KitFan, carbon filter and smart controller. Connects direct to the 100mm rear port.
CLOUDRAY S Clip FanOne 6-inch clip fan is plenty to keep air moving across a 1.2m canopy.
Environmental MonitorsSmall tents swing temperature and humidity fast. Worth watching the numbers.
Questions
Will the R120S fit in a wardrobe?
Yes, in most built-in wardrobes. At 60cm deep and 120cm wide it is the size the R120S exists for. Check your internal height too — the tent stands 1.8m, so you need that plus room above for ducting if you are venting out the roof duct.
What size is the R120S in feet?
It is a 4x2 tent. The footprint is 120 x 60cm, which is roughly 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep, standing about 6 feet high.
How many plants fit in a 4x2?
Three in 19-litre fabric pots is a comfortable working number, sitting in a row across the 1.2m width. You can push to four smaller pots, but at 60cm deep you lose the ability to get a hand in around the back of them.
Does the R120S have a roof port?
Yes — a 200mm duct in the roof, unlike the larger Ambient tents which vent from the sides only. There is also a 100mm port at the rear, a 125mm port on the left, and two 125mm OmniFlow airvents.
What light suits a 4x2 tent this shallow?
A dimmable panel that physically fits 60cm of depth. Our pick is the ULight 360W ECO run at reduced output — plenty of light for 0.72m² with headroom to push it if you want. A big square 1.2 x 1.2m fixture will not fit this tent.
Can the frame hold a fan and filter?
Yes, within reason. The R120S uses Ø16mm poles rated to 75kg rather than the 22mm poles on the larger Ambients. A 4-inch fan and carbon filter is well inside that. Hanging an 8-inch filter off this frame is not what it was built for.
