The HOMEbox HomeLab 120 is a 120 x 120 x 200 cm square grow tent built around one of the most practical footprints in indoor growing. The 1.44 m² floor space is a near-perfect fit for a standard 3' x 3' hydroponic table — whether that's flood and drain, NFT, or a dripper system — with enough clearance around the edges for plants that push past the tray boundary. A single 400 W HID light runs this space efficiently; step up to a 600 W if your plants want more intensity. Double-layered air duct ports, a waterproof blackout zipper, metal zipper pullers, and dual viewing windows make this a tent that's been thought through properly, not just sized up and shipped.

Double-Layered Ports Every air duct port is double-layered — air moves freely in and out without any light bleeding through.
3' x 3' Ready Square footprint fits a standard 3' x 3' hydroponic table with room to spare for overhanging growth.
See Without Opening Two super-clear viewing windows let you check on progress without breaking the sealed environment.
Pest Screens Standard Three passive intake ports with integrated 700-micron bug screens and removable covers — airflow without the infestation risk.

Grower's Tip
  • The five 200 mm exhaust ports give you serious flexibility — use two for air-cooling a reflector hood and run a carbon filter off a third. The remaining ports can stay capped or serve as secondary extraction points if your setup runs hot.
  • The double-layered port design means you can run ducting without stuffing socks or foam around the opening. It's already light-tight from the factory — work with it, not around it.
  • Use the viewing windows before you pull the zip. Checking temps, checking for drooping, checking for pests — most of the time you don't need to open the tent at all to know what's happening inside.

Setting Up Your HomeLab 120

1
Assemble the frame — connect the steel poles and corner connectors into the full tent skeleton. Work from the base up and ensure every joint is fully seated before moving on.
2
Attach the canvas — drape the outer shell over the frame and close all zippers fully. Run your fingers along the zipper flaps to confirm the light barrier is seated flat with no gaps.
3
Route your ducting — feed inline ducting through the 200 mm double-layered exhaust ports. The ports are adjustable to accommodate smaller-diameter equipment if needed — no cutting, no improvising.
4
Hang your light — a 400 W to 600 W HID or equivalent LED fits the space well. Route the power cable through one of the 100 mm cord access ports and keep the run tidy along the frame.
5
Open your passive intakes — uncover the passive intake ports with integrated bug screens to establish airflow. Leave the removable covers off during the run and replace them only if you need to reduce intake flow temporarily.
6
Seal and check — close everything up and do a quick torch check around seams, zippers, and port edges in a dark room before your first light cycle. Much easier to fix a light leak now than mid-run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a 3' x 3' hydroponic table fit inside the HomeLab 120?

Yes — the 120 x 120 cm footprint is designed around this exact table size. A standard 3' x 3' (roughly 91 x 91 cm) hydroponic tray fits inside with clearance on all sides for overhanging plants, equipment, and your hands when you need to get in there.

What makes the double-layered air duct ports different?

Each exhaust port has an additional inner layer that blocks light from travelling through the opening even when ducting is connected. Standard single-layer ports let light bleed around the edges of a duct connection — the double-layer design eliminates that without requiring you to tape or pack anything around the port.

How many exhaust ports does the HomeLab 120 have?

Five — all at 200 mm (8"). Two are specifically suited for air-cooling a reflector hood; the remaining three give you flexibility for additional extraction, carbon filter runs, or secondary ducting. All five are double-layered and fully adjustable to accommodate smaller-diameter equipment.

Do the viewing windows break the light seal?

No — the two super-clear viewing windows are integrated into the canvas without compromising the light-tight seal. You can check on your plants without unzipping the tent and interrupting the environment.

What is the maximum weight the HomeLab 120 frame supports?

The frame supports up to 50 kg. For a single-light square tent this is more than sufficient — a 600 W HID setup with a carbon filter and inline fan will sit well inside that limit. Spread the load evenly across the top support bars rather than hanging everything from a single point.

Is the HomeLab 120 the same as the HomeLab 120L?

No — these are two different tents. The HomeLab 120 is a square 120 x 120 x 200 cm tent with 1.44 m² of floor space, suited to a single-light setup. The HomeLab 120L is a rectangular 120 x 240 x 200 cm tent with 2.88 m² of floor space, designed for larger dual-light or split-stage setups. If you're unsure which suits your space, get in touch and we'll help you work it out.
