The Lattice Propagation Tray is a free-draining 350 x 295 x 50mm mesh tray in the nursery-standard footprint. The full lattice base lets water flow straight through the propagation media, so seedlings and cuttings drain instead of drowning. It sits onto the matching solid propagation tray, which catches the drainage below.

Full Lattice DrainageThe whole base is open mesh — water moves through the media fast and evenly, with no wet corners.
Sits Onto the Solid TrayDrops straight onto the matching solid propagation tray — drainage flows through and collects underneath.
Nursery-Standard Footprint350 x 295mm fits punnets, tube stock, jiffy pellets and rockwool cubes the nursery trade runs on.
Bottom-Watering ReadyWater the solid base below and the media wicks it up through the lattice — foliage stays dry, roots stay fed.

Grow Guys Tip
  • Run it with the matching solid propagation tray underneath — that's the pair: lattice drains, solid catches.
  • Sowing fine seed or loose media straight into the tray? Line the lattice with a grow mat or thin coco layer first.
  • After heavy watering, lift the lattice tray off the base for a few minutes so the media drains fully and roots get air.

How to Use It

1
Sit the lattice tray onto the solid propagation tray.
2
Load it with punnets, tube stock, rockwool cubes or lined media, and sow or set your cuttings.
3
Water from the top and let excess drain through to the base, or pour water into the base and let media wick it up.
4
Empty the base tray of standing water once the media has had a drink, and transplant when roots are ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tray drain?

Yes. The entire base is open lattice, so water drains through the propagation media freely — much faster than trays with a few punched holes.

Does it fit the solid propagation tray?

Yes. Both trays share the same 350 x 295 x 50mm size, so this lattice tray sits straight onto the solid tray and drains into it.

Can I sow seed or media directly into it?

Yes, with a liner. The lattice openings will let loose media and fine seed fall through, so lay a grow mat, capillary mat or thin coco layer over the base first.

Will it fit under a propagation dome?

Yes, in most cases — 350 x 295mm is the standard small propagation kit footprint, so domes made for that size sit over it. Check your dome's base dimensions to be sure.
