Pairs well with
The Smartgro square fabric pots by NutriCulture are built to slot straight into Wilma and Origin dripper systems — square format, four side slots for stakes, and a breathable geo-textile wall that air-prunes roots from every side. Available in 11.6L, 15.1L, 19.3L, and 41L, in green. Made from recycled plastic and built to wash and reuse season after season.
Specifications
- Square pots tessellate inside a Wilma or Origin tray — you fit more plant per square metre with zero dead space between pots.
- Drippers sit square to the pot rim, distributing solution evenly across the root zone.
- Pair the 11.6L or 15.1L with clay pebbles for a fast wet-dry cycle; pair the 19.3L or 41L with coco for slower-feeding setups.
- Fabric pots dry faster than plastic — adjust your dripper feeding schedule accordingly when you switch over.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will these fit my Wilma or Origin system?
Yes — the Smartgro range is made by NutriCulture (the same company that makes the Wilma and Origin systems) and is sized to drop straight into their dripper trays. Match the pot size to your system: the 11.6L fits the Wilma L 4, the 15.1L fits the Wilma XL 4, and the 19.3L fits the Wilma XXL 5. The 41L is best suited to standalone growing or larger commercial builds.
What's the difference between square and round fabric pots?
Square pots tessellate inside a tray with no dead space between them, so you fit more plant per square metre. They also give you predictable dripper placement and integrated stake slots. Round pots are more universal across systems but waste tray space when grouped together.
What growing medium works best?
Clay pebbles are the most popular choice for Wilma and Origin setups, especially in the smaller sizes (11.6L, 15.1L), because they drain fast and pair well with flood drippers. Coco coir suits the 19.3L and 41L for slower feeding cycles with arrow drippers. Soil and rockwool also work.
Can these be reused?
Yes — they're built for it. Empty out used media, hose down, hand-wash or machine-wash on a gentle cycle, and dry fully before storage. Sanitise in a mild bleach solution if you've had pests or root disease.
Are they made from recycled material?
Yes — Smartgro fabric pots are manufactured from recycled plastic that's been woven into a durable geo-textile. Reusable across multiple seasons, so they pay back in environmental terms as well as cost.
Do they come with drippers or canes?
No — drippers come with the Wilma or Origin system itself. Canes and stake supports are sold separately. The pot has four integrated side slots that bamboo canes slide through cleanly.
Will I need to water more often than with plastic pots?
Yes — fabric pots dry faster than plastic because moisture evaporates through the walls. In a dripper system this is easily managed by adjusting your timer for slightly more frequent or longer feeds. Most growers find the trade-off pays back in stronger root development.
