Coco coir is one of the most forgiving ways to grow hydroponically, and one of the easiest to feed badly with a nutrient that was not built for it. GT Coco Grow is Growth Technology's two-part base nutrient formulated specifically for coco fibre through the vegetative stage. Part A and Part B are kept in separate bottles so minerals that would react in a single concentrate only meet once they are diluted. Add Part A at 3–4ml per litre and stir it through, then add the same amount of Part B. Growth Technology's combined A and B analysis carries total nitrogen 5.52% w/v, potassium 6.14% and calcium 4.5%, with magnesium, sulfur and the trace elements. Test and adjust the pH to 5.5–6.5. Every set is a matched Part A and Part B: 2 × 1L, 2 × 5.5L or 2 × 20L. Switch to GT Coco Bloom A&B for flowering.

Each set is two bottles. You get one Part A and one Part B of the same size, and you need both. For flowering, change to GT Coco Bloom A&B. Not growing in coco? Growth Technology's single-bottle hydroponic nutrient is Ionic Grow.
Formulated for coco fibreGrowth Technology made GT Coco specifically for coco, not a general hydroponic nutrient with coco printed on the label. The Grow formula covers the vegetative stage.
A and B, apart until the waterTwo concentrates, so minerals that would react in one bottle only meet once diluted. Add A, stir, then add the same amount of B.
3–4ml of each part per litreA 1L set at 4ml per litre of each part makes 250 litres of nutrient solution. The 2 × 20L set is for rooms that mix by the drum.
A complete base nutrientCombined analysis: total nitrogen 5.52%, potassium 6.14%, calcium 4.5%, magnesium 1.0% and sulfur 1.32% w/v, plus iron, manganese, boron, zinc, copper and molybdenum.
Matched pairs in every sizeEvery set is one Part A and one Part B of the same size. Equal doses mean both bottles run down together.
Grow into BloomGT Coco Bloom A&B is the flowering formula, mixed the same way. Change sets as the plants move into flowering.

Grower's Tip

  • Never pour Part A and Part B into each other, or into a small amount of water together. Add A to the full volume of water and stir it through, then add B. That is Growth Technology's mixing order.
  • Use the same measure of B as A, every time. An uneven mix shifts the balance the formula was built on.
  • Additives go in after A and B, and the pH gets tested and adjusted last. Silica is the exception: Growth Technology puts it into the plain water first, with a 15-minute rest, before Part A.
  • Start young plants at 3ml per litre of each part and move towards 4ml as they grow, adjusting to the conductivity you want.
  • Coco holds water well. Let watering follow how fast the pots dry back, not the calendar.
  • A 1L set at 4ml per litre of each part makes 250 litres of solution. The 2 × 5.5L set suits a tent on a regular feed; the 2 × 20L set is for bigger rooms.
  • Store both bottles somewhere cool and dark.

How To Mix It

1Fill the reservoir or mixing container with the volume of water you need. If you run Silica, add it to the plain water now, stir it through and let it rest 15 minutes.
2Shake Part A and add 3–4ml per litre of water. Stir it through thoroughly.
3Shake Part B and add the same amount. Stir well.
4Stir in any additives you use, one at a time.
5Test the pH and adjust it to 5.5–6.5, check the EC, then feed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GT Coco Grow made for coco coir?

Yes. Growth Technology formulates GT Coco specifically for coco fibre. Coco Grow covers the vegetative stage and Coco Bloom covers flowering.

Can I mix Part A and Part B together in one bottle?

No. Keep the concentrates separate. Add Part A to the full volume of water and stir it through, then add an equal amount of Part B.

How much do I use?

3–4ml of Part A per litre of water, then the same amount of Part B, adjusted to reach the conductivity you want.

Do I need to adjust the pH?

Yes. Growth Technology's direction is to test and adjust to 5.5–6.5 after A, B and any additives are mixed in.

What is in a set?

One Part A and one Part B of the same size: 2 × 1L, 2 × 5.5L or 2 × 20L. You need both parts to make the nutrient.

When do I switch to GT Coco Bloom?

When the plants move into flowering. Coco Grow is formulated for the vegetative stage and Coco Bloom for flowering.

Can I use GT Coco Grow outside coco?

It is not what it is made for. Growth Technology formulates GT Coco for coco fibre. For other hydroponic systems, its single-bottle Ionic range is the alternative.

What EC should I run?

Growth Technology's product directions do not set an EC target. They say to adjust the dilution rate to reach the conductivity you want for your plants.

What is the analysis?

Growth Technology publishes a combined A and B analysis: total nitrogen 5.52% w/v (nitrate 5.20, ammonium 0.31), phosphorus 1.0%, potassium 6.14%, calcium 4.5%, magnesium 1.0% and sulfur 1.32%, plus six trace elements. The full table is in Specifications.

Welcome to The Grow Guys

We built The Grow Guys from the soil up — well, coco and perlite. Before we sold gear, we bought it, ran it, and learned the hard way what's worth the money and what ends up in the shed. That's the filter everything on our shelves passes through. No sales scripts, no rebadged junk, no telling you what you want to hear. Just gear we'd run ourselves and advice from people who actually grow. Chasing higher yields, tighter flowers, or your first harvest? You're in the right place.
