Pairs well with
Chillies are hungry, long-season plants that spend months flowering and fruiting at the same time, and a general vegetable feed tends to give them either lush leaves and no pods or a calcium shortfall that shows up as blossom-end rot. Chilli Focus is Growth Technology's complete liquid nutrient for chillies and peppers, made in Australia: potassium 3.1% w/v for fruit set and ripening, calcium 1.2% in a soluble form, nitrate-nitrogen 2.3%, all 12 essential minerals, no urea, chlorides or sodium, and pH buffering for tap water. It runs from seedling to harvest in pots, beds or hydroponics at 3–10ml per litre. Available in 250ml, 1L, 5L and 20L.

Grower's Tip
- Seedlings and young plants get the bottom of the range (3ml per litre in soil). Step up as the plant fills its pot and starts to flower, and run the top of the range only on a big plant in full fruit.
- Chillies flower and fruit at the same time for months, so there is no bloom switch. Keep the feed consistent and let the rate, not the product, follow the plant.
- Water to runoff and flush monthly. Pots in full sun dry fast and concentrate salts, and a stressed chilli drops flowers.
- Blossom-end rot is usually a calcium delivery problem caused by uneven watering, not a lack of calcium in the feed. Keep the watering regular and the soluble calcium in Chilli Focus can do its job.
- In hydro, mix fresh every fortnight and check the reservoir level daily in summer; a fruiting chilli drinks more than you expect.
- Store cool and dark, shake before use.
How To Use It
Pairs Well With
Aphids and whitefly find chillies before you do. Hang one near the plants to catch the first arrivals.
Silica by Growth TechnologyPotassium silicate for stronger cell walls and stems. Add it to the same watering can.
Rootzone by Growth TechnologyRoot biostimulant for the weeks after repotting or transplanting, when the plant is rebuilding roots.
Gardeners Friend Premium Potting Mix 30LTasmanian-made potting mix. Fresh mix plus a complete feed is most of what a potted plant needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Chilli Focus suitable for capsicums as well as chillies?
Yes. Growth Technology formulates it for a wide variety of chillies and peppers, and capsicums are the same species as most chillies.
Can I use it on tomatoes?
No, not as the main feed. Growth Technology lists Chilli Focus for chillies and peppers only, so we do not recommend it as a tomato feed. For tomatoes and cucumbers, Growth Technology makes Vegetable Focus.
How much do I use?
3–7ml per litre of water in soil and potting mix, 5–10ml per litre in hydro, at every watering. Start low on young plants and increase as they mature. Flush with plain water once a month.
Do I need a separate bloom feed when the plant flowers?
No. Chillies flower and fruit continuously, and Chilli Focus is balanced to carry the plant through growth, flowering and fruiting on one bottle. Increase the rate as the plant matures rather than changing product.
Does it contain urea?
No. Chilli Focus is free from urea, chlorides and sodium. Nitrogen is supplied as nitrate.
Do I need to adjust the pH?
No, not with most tap water. It is pH buffered. Hydro growers running a recirculating system should still monitor pH as a matter of course.
Does it help with blossom-end rot?
It supplies soluble calcium (1.2% w/v), which is the nutrient involved, but blossom-end rot is usually caused by irregular watering interrupting calcium delivery rather than by a shortage in the feed. Keep watering consistent and the calcium in the feed can reach the fruit.
What is the NPK?
Growth Technology publishes a full analysis rather than a ratio: nitrate-nitrogen 2.3%, phosphorus 0.6% and potassium 3.1% w/v, plus calcium, magnesium, sulfur and six chelated trace elements. The full table is in Specifications.
Can I use it in hydroponics?
Yes. It is formulated for both hydroponics and soil. Use the 5–10ml per litre rate and replace the reservoir every fortnight.
