A small reservoir is the weak link in a big grow room: it swings in pH and EC, warms up fast and needs topping up every day. This 810L round smooth wall poly tank fixes that in an 880mm footprint, 1.60m high. It is Tasmanian made, one-piece and food grade, with opaque walls that keep light out, which is what stops algae taking hold in your nutrient. The 25mm (1") outlet takes a standard ball valve or pump fitting, so it plumbs straight into your feed system. It works just as well as a compact rainwater tank, in 28 colours with a 10 year manufacturer warranty. The honest bit: at 880mm wide it will not fit through most standard internal doors, so measure the way in before you buy.

In store or made to order. Some colours are in stock at our Invermay store now. Anything else is made to order, 3 to 5 weeks. Pick up from Invermay, or choose Tasmanian delivery and we'll call you to quote it after you order.
Full-room reservoir810L of nutrient in an 880mm footprint means steadier pH and EC, slower temperature swings and fewer top-ups.
Opaque walls, no light inLight in the reservoir is what feeds algae. These walls keep it out. Pick a darker colour for a grow room.
Food grade, one pieceFood grade polyethylene with no seams or joins to leak, so it is safe for nutrient and drinking water alike.
Standard 1" outletThe 25mm outlet takes a standard ball valve or pump fitting, so it plumbs into your feed lines without adaptors.

Grower's Tip

  • Choose a darker colour for a grow room reservoir. Darker walls are the safer bet for keeping light out.
  • Plan the floor first. Full, this tank holds 810L of water, which weighs around 810kg before you add the tank itself. Put it on a slab or a floor that can take it.
  • Keep the lid shut and the strainer covered. Light and debris getting in through the top undo the opaque walls.
  • Run an air pump and air stone, or a recirculating pump, to keep the nutrient mixed and oxygenated in a tank this size.
  • Empty and clean it between runs. A clean reservoir is the cheapest root health insurance you can buy.
  • Fit the ball valve option if you are plumbing to a pump, or the lever tap if you mostly fill watering cans.

How To Set It Up

1Pick the spot and check the floor can take the full weight. A slab is ideal.
2Measure the way in. At 880mm wide it will not fit through most internal doors, so check doorways and hallways first.
3Set it level and fit your outlet: ball valve to a pump, or the lever tap for hand watering.
4Add your pump and air stone, then fill with water and let it settle to room temperature.
5Mix in your nutrient, check pH and EC, and connect your feed lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use it as a hydroponic nutrient reservoir?

Yes. It is one-piece food grade polyethylene with opaque walls, and the 25mm (1") outlet takes a standard ball valve or pump fitting.

Will it fit through a standard door?

No, not usually. It is 880mm wide, and most standard internal doors are narrower than that. Measure every doorway on the way in before you buy.

Does it stop algae?

Yes, as long as light stays out. The walls are opaque, so keep the lid and strainer covered and pick a darker colour for best results.

Which tap does it come with?

Your choice of a 25mm ball valve or a 3/4" lever tap. Tell us in the order notes, or when we call to confirm.

Is it safe for drinking water?

Yes. It is food grade and certified to AS/NZS 4766. If you collect rainwater, water quality also depends on your roof and gutters, so fit a first flush diverter.

How long does it take if you don't have my colour?

About 3 to 5 weeks. It is made to order in Tasmania and we let you know when it is ready.

Do you deliver?

Yes, within Tasmania. Choose Tasmanian delivery at checkout and we call you to quote it, or pick up from our Invermay store. We don't ship tanks to the mainland.

Growers First, Retailers Second

Welcome to The Grow Guys

We built The Grow Guys from the soil up — well, coco and perlite. Before we sold gear, we bought it, ran it, and learned the hard way what's worth the money and what ends up in the shed. That's the filter everything on our shelves passes through. No sales scripts, no rebadged junk, no telling you what you want to hear. Just gear we'd run ourselves and advice from people who actually grow. Chasing higher yields, tighter flowers, or your first harvest? You're in the right place.
