Ed Rosenthal's Zero Tolerance Concentrate is the high-volume, dilute-your-own version of the iconic herbal pesticide trusted by organic growers across Australia. Same OMRI-listed food-grade oils of cinnamon, clove, rosemary, and thyme — this time in a concentrated format so you can dial the strength to suit seedlings, mature plants, or prop domes, and treat rooms the aerosol just can't keep up with. 1L makes up to 40L of finished spray; 250ml makes up to 12.5L. Kills on contact, repels for ongoing pressure, leaves no residue at harvest.

Dilute to Suit Mix stronger for mature canopies, weaker for seedlings and cuttings. One bottle, every growth stage.
OMRI-Listed Organic Certified for organic production. 100% herbal, food-grade oils — no synthetic carriers, no residues.
Hits Thrips & Broad Mites One of the few organic options that handles the hardest-to-shift pests alongside the usual suspects.
IPM-Compatible Non-systemic, non-residual. Works alongside beneficial predators — spray, wait, release.
Big-Room Value 1L yields 40L of finished spray — the economical pick for bigger tents, greenhouses, and commercial rooms.
Pet, Fish & Bee Safer Safer for fish and reptiles than pyrethrum. Safe around pets and beneficials when dry.

Grower Tips
  • Dilution rates vary by plant maturity. Use lighter concentrations (around 20ml/L) on young plants and cuttings; stronger (around 40ml/L) on established canopies. Always test a single leaf first.
  • Shake the concentrate well before every pour — the essential oils will separate during storage.
  • Mix only what you'll use in one session. ZT works best fresh; leftover diluted spray loses potency within 24 hours.
  • Use ZT preventatively. Spray tent walls, zippers, and the inside of propagation dome lids to create a residual pest barrier — cheaper than treating an outbreak later.
  • Spray lights-off or well-dimmed. Hot leaves plus essential oils is the recipe for burn marks you didn't want.
  • Pair with beneficial predators 3–4 days after your last application. Because ZT leaves no residue, predators move straight in and handle any pests that re-emerge.

How to Mix & Apply

1
Shake the concentrate bottle thoroughly. Measure your water into a clean pump sprayer, fogger, or atomiser.
2
Add ZT concentrate. Start at 20ml per litre of water for seedlings and young plants; step up toward 40ml per litre for mature canopies and tougher infestations.
3
Turn lights off or dim heavily. Remove any badly affected leaves and bag them before spraying to stop pests jumping to healthy plants.
4
Spray the underside and top of every leaf, all main stems, and the top layer of media. Even mist, no dripping. Coverage is what kills — not saturation.
5
Repeat 2–3 days later, then again 2 days after that. Three rounds total breaks the breeding cycle of most pests.
6
Release beneficial predators 3–4 days after your final spray for lasting organic control. Rinse your sprayer thoroughly before storing.

FAQ

What dilution rate should I use?

Start at 20ml per litre of water for young plants, seedlings, and cuttings. Step up to 30–40ml per litre for mature canopies and active infestations. Always test one leaf first — sensitive varieties show mild burn at higher strengths. If burn appears, dilute further (1 part ZT mix to 3–4 parts water).

Concentrate or aerosol — which should I buy?

Concentrate wins on value per mL of usable spray and lets you adjust strength by growth stage — best for rooms over 1m x 1m, commercial setups, or anyone rotating ZT through multiple tents. Aerosol wins on convenience for spot fixes, small tents, and quick room barrier sprays. Many growers keep both.

Can I use it during flower?

Yes. ZT is safe through flower up to around 5 days before harvest. Spray lights-off, use lighter strength (around 20–30ml/L) on dense buds, and mist rather than drench to avoid pooling in the heads. The oils evaporate fully so there's no residue or taste impact at harvest.

Does it really kill thrips and broad mites?

Yes — it's one of the few organic options with a track record for both. The key is thorough coverage (underside of leaves, inner canopy, nodes) and three applications spaced 2–3 days apart to catch eggs that hatch after round one. Single passes won't clear any mite — organic or not.

Is it safe for pets, fish, and beneficials?

Yes — a key advantage over pyrethrum, which is toxic to fish and reptiles. Keep pets out while spraying, let foliage dry, and release beneficial predators 3–4 days after your last application to avoid hitting them with residual oils.

Can I mix ZT with other foliar sprays or nutrients?

No — spray ZT on its own. Mixing with neem, soap sprays, or foliar feeds raises the risk of leaf burn and unpredictable reactions. Keep it simple and run ZT as a standalone application in your IPM rotation.

How long does it keep after opening?

Concentrate stays good for around 12 months sealed and stored in a cool, dark place. Diluted spray should be used within 24 hours — the oils lose potency once mixed with water. Mix what you need, spray what you mix.

Does it ship to Tasmania and regional Australia?

Yes — ships Australia-wide. Free shipping over $499*. Concentrate ships as standard freight (unlike the aerosol), so delivery to WA/NT/TAS is usually on the same timeline as the rest of the country. Questions on your postcode? Flick us a message.
