Flairform pH Up is a concentrated potassium carbonate solution for raising nutrient pH in hydro, coco and soil. At 600g/L it delivers the working strength of a 400g/L potassium hydroxide solution — without the caustic handling problems. It's classified as a non-dangerous good, so there are no special freight, storage or handling requirements, and it's much safer to use and more environmentally friendly than hydroxide-based pH ups. Available in 250ml and 1L.

Hydroxide Strength, Safer Chemistry600g/L potassium carbonate — the equivalent working strength of 400g/L potassium hydroxide, minus the caustic risk.
Non-Dangerous GoodNot subject to ADR, IATA or IMDG codes — ships like any normal parcel with no HazMat fees or special storage.
Hydro, Coco and SoilOne adjuster covers every substrate in the grow room — raise reservoir or feed-water pH wherever you grow.
A Little Goes a Long WayConcentrated formulation means small, controlled doses — easier to hit your target pH without overshooting.

Grow Guys Tip — When to Check and Adjust pH
  • Check pH when the nutrient is first mixed, after adding top-up water or additives (especially alkaline ones), and daily in recirculating systems — water and nutrient uptake shift pH constantly.
  • Don't let pH sit high for long. The precipitate that forms usually won't re-dissolve, and those nutrients are lost to your plants.
  • Safer than hydroxide doesn't mean harmless — this is still a concentrated alkaline solution. Gloves and eye protection are smart, and dose gradually with mixing between checks.

How to Use

1
Test your nutrient solution with a calibrated pH meter or test kit.
2
If pH is below your target range, add a small dose of pH Up to the reservoir — never directly onto plants.
3
Mix thoroughly, wait a few minutes, then re-test. Repeat in small doses until you're on target — it's concentrated, so creep up on the number.
4
Re-check pH daily in recirculating systems and after every top-up or additive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this safer than regular pH Up?

Regular pH Up solutions are typically potassium hydroxide — genuinely caustic, HazMat-classified and a burn risk. Flairform uses concentrated potassium carbonate instead: equivalent working strength, much safer to handle, more environmentally friendly, and classified as a non-dangerous good.

Does it still need careful handling?

Yes. It's a concentrated alkaline solution and the safety data sheet lists it as an eye and skin irritant, so gloves and eye protection are sensible. Safer than hydroxide, not harmless — treat it with the same respect as any concentrate.

How much do I add to raise pH?

There's no fixed dose — it depends on your water, nutrient strength and reservoir size. Because it's concentrated, add small amounts, mix, and re-test until you hit target. Flairform's online dosage calculator can give you a starting point.

How often should I check nutrient pH?

When the nutrient is first made, after any top-up water or additives, and daily in recirculating systems — water and nutrient uptake shift pH continuously. Letting pH sit too high forms precipitate that usually won't re-dissolve.

Can I use it in soil and coco as well as hydro?

Yes. Flairform pH Up is formulated for hydro, coco and soil — adjust your feed water or reservoir the same way regardless of substrate.
