Most inline fans tap out well before your humidity does. The HVC Dura Mixed Flow Fan carries an IP68 waterproof rating — fully sealed against water ingress and purpose-built for 100% humidity environments where condensation is constant and ordinary fans fail within a season. Available in five sizes from 100mm through to 250mm, with a fan speed controller included across the entire range.

IP68 Waterproof Fully sealed for 100% humidity environments — the ingress protection standard that rules out condensation damage.
Controller Included Fan speed controller ships with every size. No separate purchase, no compatibility guessing — dial it in from day one.
EC Mixed Flow Motors The 100mm to 250mm models use EC motors — more efficient, quieter, and capable of serious airflow outputs up to 1,808 m³/h.
Five Sizes 100mm compact through to 250mm commercial — sized for every grow room configuration.

Sizing Guide — Which Fan Do You Need?
  • 100mm — Small tents up to 1.0m x 1.0m or secondary exhaust runs in a larger setup
  • 125mm — Tents up to 1.2m x 1.2m, the most common home grower configuration
  • 150mm EC — Tents up to 1.5m x 1.5m and mid-sized grow rooms — the best all-rounder in the range
  • 200mm EC — Tents up to 1.5m x 3.0m, large rooms and multi-light setups requiring serious air exchange rates
  • 250mm EC — Tents up to 3.0m x 3.0m, commercial-scale environments or long duct runs with high static pressure
  • When in doubt, size up — a fan running at 70% consistently outperforms one maxed out

Setting Up Your Dura Fan

1
Plan your ducting run — Map the shortest, most direct route from fan to exhaust point before you mount anything. Every 90-degree bend adds the equivalent resistance of 1.5–2m of straight ducting. Keep it short and straight wherever possible.
2
Mount the fan inline — The Dura sits inside your ducting run, not at the end of it. Secure both connections with ducting clamps to prevent slippage and air leaks before you power on.
3
Connect the speed controller — Plug the included controller between the fan and power. Start at around 70% speed and adjust from there based on your room temperature, humidity, and odour readings.
4
Check for negative pressure — Tent walls should draw slightly inward when the fan is running correctly. If walls bow outward, check for unsealed gaps or increase fan speed until the draw is right.
5
Upgrade to automated control — Pair with an HVC Smart Controller for temperature or humidity-triggered speed adjustments. The thermal probe takes over where the manual controller leaves off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Dura Fan safe to use in high-humidity grow environments?

Yes. The IP68 rating means the fan is fully sealed against dust and continuous water ingress — it is rated for 100% humidity environments where condensation is constant. Standard inline fans without an IP rating will degrade and fail under these conditions over time.

Does the fan speed controller come included with every size?

Yes. Every size in the Dura range ships with a fan speed controller included. No additional accessories are required to start managing airflow from the moment you install it.

What is the difference between the 100mm/125mm models and the larger EC models?

The 100mm and 125mm Dura fans use standard inline motors, both rated at 275 m³/h at 18 watts. The 150mm, 200mm, and 250mm models use EC (electronically commutated) mixed flow motors, which run more efficiently, operate quieter under load, and reach significantly higher airflow outputs — from 621 m³/h up to 1,808 m³/h on the 250mm.

Can I upgrade from the included speed controller to an HVC Smart Controller?

Yes. The Dura Fan is compatible with HVC Smart Controllers, which add temperature and humidity-based automation via a thermal probe. This replaces manual speed adjustment with hands-off environment management — the controller responds to conditions in your room rather than requiring you to dial it.

How do I calculate the right fan size for my grow room?

Aim for at least one full air exchange per minute. Multiply your room's length x width x height in metres to get your volume in m³ — that figure is the minimum airflow rating you need at full fan speed. Then account for duct bends and a carbon filter reducing effective output by 20–30%, and size up if you are close to the limit. A fan running at 70% capacity is quieter, more efficient, and lasts longer than one running flat out.
