The GrowHub E42A+ by VIVOSUN pulls all of it onto one 4.3" colour screen: it reads temperature, humidity and VPD inside the tent and out, dims and schedules your light, and ramps your inline fan automatically when conditions drift. It suits growers running VIVOSUN's Smart Grow System (AeroLight, LumaRay, AeroWave, AeroZesh), plus anyone with a compatible Flexstar, Spider Farmer or Mars Hydro light or an AC Infinity Cloudline fan. Wi-Fi and the VIVOSUN app add remote control, grow recipes and a year of history, but the controller runs fine without them. The honest limit: it controls gear over low-voltage cables, not power points, so it will not switch a plug-in heater or humidifier on its own.

Grower's Tip

Mount the controller on the outside of the tent. The iron plate sticks to the inside wall and the magnet holds the controller through the fabric, so the screen never lights your canopy.
If the controller does sit anywhere the plants can see it, set Screen-Off Time to 30 seconds and drop the brightness. Any lit screen in the grow space is a light leak during the dark period.
Hang the probe at canopy height, out of direct light and away from the fan's airstream. A probe in the hot spot under the light makes Auto mode chase the wrong number.
Set a standby speed rather than OFF for the exhaust. A slow constant draw keeps the tent under negative pressure, and Auto only needs to ramp up from there.
Turn on Advanced Auto in the app if your room swings hot or humid. It reads the outside sensor and stops the fan pulling in air that would make things worse.
The exhaust alone can only move VPD by swapping air with the room. For real VPD control, add a heater, humidifier or dehumidifier alongside it.
Pair it on your 2.4GHz network. Most routers broadcast both bands under similar names; pick the 2.4GHz one and keep Bluetooth on your phone during setup.

How To Set It Up

1Peel the backing off the iron plate and stick it to the inside wall of the tent. Place the controller on the outside of the tent over the plate, or screw it to a wall using the slotted holes.

2Plug the probe into the 2.5mm sensor port and hang it at canopy height. Connect your light to the light port through the converter (RJ45 for AeroLight, RJ11 for VS-series and compatible third-party lights), and your fans to ports A–E.

3Power up any connected AeroLight, AeroZesh or AeroWave and the controller powers from its cable. If you are only running a VS-series or third-party light, you need a 12V power adapter on one of the ports.

4Set the time, then assign a device type to every port you have used (Power Adapter, AeroWave, AeroWave Gen2 or AeroZesh). Ports given the same type follow the same logic.

5Download the VIVOSUN app, tap +, and add the GrowHub E42A+ on your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The clock syncs automatically once it is online.

6Set your light schedule and spectrum, then put the inline fan in Auto with a max speed, a standby speed and your temperature, humidity or VPD triggers. Check the readings over a full day and night and fine-tune.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the GrowHub E42A+ work without Wi-Fi?

Yes. Lights, clip fans and inline fans can all be set and run from the controller's own screen. Wi-Fi and the VIVOSUN app add remote control, grow recipes, history and alerts, and if the connection drops it keeps running your last settings.

Does it have power outlets for a heater or humidifier?

No. The E42A+ controls devices over low-voltage Type-C and RJ cables, not 240V power points. VIVOSUN's heaters, humidifiers and dehumidifiers run alongside it in the VIVOSUN app.

Will it run my Spider Farmer, Mars Hydro or Flexstar light?

Yes, if your series is on VIVOSUN's compatibility list. Spider Farmer G, SE and SF, Mars Hydro TS, FC, FC-E and SP, and Flexstar PRO, SE, MATRIX, TRIFOLD and NOVA connect over RJ11 through the included converter. Some lights limit how many units can be daisy-chained or how far they dim, so check with the light's maker if you run several.

Does it work with AC Infinity inline fans?

Yes. Cloudline A, B, S and T series fans with a Type-C connector plug into ports A or B directly. Older Cloudline fans with a Molex connector need a fan adaptor.

Will it connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi?

No. It connects to 2.4GHz networks only. Most home routers broadcast both, so choose the 2.4GHz network when pairing.

What happens after a power outage?

It resumes your settings automatically. If it was connected to Wi-Fi before the outage it reconnects and syncs the time; if not, set the time on the controller and it carries on from there.

Can I add CO₂ monitoring?

Yes. VIVOSUN's 4-in-1 sensor adds CO₂ and light detection on top of temperature and humidity, and it is made for the E42A+. It does not work with the original E42 or E42A.
