The GL650W+ driver mounts remotely by design — but the standard cabling that ships with the fixture only gets you so far. If your room layout means the driver needs to sit more than arm's reach from the fixture frame, this kit is what you need. Two 3-metre extension cables — one for power, one for dimming — that replace the stock connections and let you position the GL650W+ driver up to 3 metres away from the bars without any voltage drop or signal loss. Nothing more, nothing less.

What's in the Box
- This kit is designed exclusively for the GL650W+ fixture. It uses Jnicon M19 connectors specific to that driver and frame — it will not fit the GL1000W+ or any other Treegers model.
- If you are running a GL1000W+, there is a separate GL1000W+ Driver Extension Kit available. The GL1000W+ kit includes three cables (two power, one dimming) to match that fixture's driver configuration.
- Both the power and dimming cables in this kit must be installed together. Running only the power extension without replacing the dimming cable will leave the signal path on the shorter stock cable.
- The 3-metre extension is the maximum rated distance for this kit. Do not attempt to chain two kits together to gain 6 metres — this is not rated or supported by Treegers.
How to Install the Driver Extension Kit

This kit exists for one fixture. If you're running the GL650W+ and need driver clearance, this is the only way to get it.
Treegers Growcast ControllerWith the driver remotely mounted, the Growcast connects directly to it and automates scheduling and PPFD control from your phone.
Treegers Precise T DimmerIf you're using a T Dimmer rather than the Growcast, it connects to the remotely mounted driver the same way — no additional cables required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this kit work with the GL1000W+ or GL420W?
No — this kit is designed exclusively for the GL650W+. It uses Jnicon M19 connectors specific to the GL650W+ driver configuration and will not fit the GL1000W+, GL420W, or GL300W. The GL1000W+ has its own separate extension kit. The GL420W and GL300W have integrated drivers and do not support remote driver mounting.
Do I need to install both cables, or can I just use the power cable?
Both cables must be installed together. The power cable extends the electrical supply between driver and fixture; the dimming cable extends the control signal. If you only extend the power connection and leave the stock dimming cable in place, the dimming cable becomes the limiting factor on how far the driver can be positioned. For a full 3-metre remote driver setup, both cables are required.
Can I chain two kits together to get 6 metres of distance?
No — 3 metres is the maximum rated distance for this kit. Chaining two kits is not supported by Treegers, is not covered under warranty, and may result in voltage drop on the power cable or signal degradation on the dimming connection. If your installation requires more than 3 metres of driver clearance, contact The Grow Guys to discuss alternatives before purchasing.
Why would I want to mount the driver remotely?
The GL650W+ driver generates heat during operation. Mounting it outside the grow tent or away from the canopy keeps that heat source outside the growing environment, which reduces the total thermal load your exhaust system needs to manage. It also makes the driver more accessible for inspection and maintenance without disturbing the canopy or opening the tent. For tightly managed grow rooms at 650W, remote driver mounting is worth the $58 to get the heat out.
Does this kit affect dimming performance?
No — the dimming extension cable is rated and tested for use at 3 metres without signal loss. Your T Dimmer, Growcast, or universal controller will communicate with the driver exactly as it would with the stock cabling. No recalibration or adjustment is needed after installation.
